On the invitation of the National Highway and motorway police, two representatives of PRCS -NHQ accompanied by three NWFP-PHQ staff took part in the road safety seminar organized in Peshawar. The office in charge National training and Resource Centre gave a well -received talk on First Aid in roadside accidents. As an impact of her presentation, several First Aid in the community books was sold. Several people also expressed interest in taking first aid course and were referred to the PRCS -PHQ.

Danish Red Cross Delegation Visit to PRCS

Islamabad, June 24, 2004- Mr. Freddy Karup Pedersen, President of the Danish Red Cross along with his two delegates arrived in Islamabad on a three – day visit on the invitation of Mr. Jahan Dad Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Red Crescent Society- PRCS.On the day of arrival, the delegation was given a guided tour of the PRCS NWFP Branch where they had a meeting with the Provincial Secretary, PRCS and witnessed health activities.

The following day, the Danish Delegation called on the Mr. Jahan Dad Khan, Chairman PRCS and discussed matters of mutual interest. Later on, a brief presentation on the PRCS’s organizational structure and its work related activities with emphasis on health management was given by the Mr. Khalid Kibriya, Secretary General of PRCS.The delegation were feted by the Chairman on lunch at Al-Shifa Eye Hospital that was attended by the Danish Ambassador as well. Moreover, the Danish Red Cross Delegation held separate meetings with representatives of International Committee of Red Cross-ICRC, International Federation of Red Cross- IFRC and called on the Danish Ambassador as well.
